During Scott’s early childhood, his parents were killed when the family home was burnt down in a fire. It is currently unknown whether the fire was deliberate lit or simply an accident. His neighbours, the Grouter’s adopted him and raised him as their own.
Glory Days
Scott’s life began simple and clean. Born an only child to loving parents, he was seen as their ray of sunshine. Scott’s father was a miner, while Scott’s mother stayed at home to look after baby. James spoke and read to his child constantly when he was home, teaching him the ways of a miner and showing him the tools of his trade while Rosalyn taught their son the fundamentals of housekeeping and cooking. Well, what fundamentals a toddler his age could learn. At the tender age of five, a house fire took the lives of his parents, while the child himself was left with minor burns and abrasions. An investigation into the incident drew inconclusive. The cause of the fire was never determined and it left questions in the young boy’s mind as a result.
His neighbours, who were close friends with his parents took it upon themselves to adopt the lonely child and raised the boy as if he were their own. Roma too was a miner, who often was called away along with Scott’s father, so he continued in the teachings Scott’s father could never finish. He taught the growing child how to use explosives in the mining tunnels, and how to read the mining maps and move around within the dangerous tunnels. Gwendolyn was also a housewife, and so she continued his teachings in domestic life. As a result Scott grew to be quite an excellent cook.
At fifteen, Scott took his first trip into the mines. It was an experience the teenager would never forget, and it ignited his desire to someday join the Army and serve Atlantis. He trained every day until he came of age, and when he did, he was almost immediately accepted. Soon after, he was assigned a unit and became the Demolitions Expert of the elite unit, Soulbane.

Nanotech Individual Combat Weapon (NICW): The NICW is an elite, experimental weapon entrusted only to those of the Soulbane squad. This versatile and capable weapon consists of a grenade launcher mounted on an automatic rifle, with a special targeting scope attached. The scope will outline nearby enemies with blue targeting reticle, allowing for the carrier to spot opponents through walls and around corners. The rifle portion has a high rate of fire and inflicts impressive damage. The NICW secondary fire launches a grenade which explodes on impact. The NICW allows you to lay down a spray of bullets and launch grenades at a target simultaneously without the need to switch between weapons.
